About Us
Jharkhand Council of Educational Research and Training (JCERT) is functioning as the academic authority (as per RTE Act) in formulating and implementing the policies and programmes of the State Government in the field of School and Teacher Education.
JCERT is established by Human Resource Development Department, Government of Jharkhand in 2007 and registered under Societies Registration Act 1860.
It is financially supported by centrally sponsored scheme of Teacher Education (CSSTE) under Samagra Shiksha and also by the State Government’s Annual Grant.
JCERT is governed by its General Council (Chairman: Hon. Minister, SE&L Dept.) and Executive Committee (Chairman: Secretary, SE&L Dept.)
Other working committees are also constituted in JCERT for Textbook Development, Vetting of Resource Material, e-content development, DIKSHA, Awards, Purchase/Tender etc.
OUR GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
To provide support and develop the capacities of teachers teaching in Elementary, Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools.
To develop resource material such as textbooks, supplementary material, modules and manuals to support for active classroom processes and learning.
To approve appropriate and quality-based teaching-learning material for Schools and TEIs.
To discuss issues related to “School-Education” and “Teacher-Education” through workshops, seminars and out-reach programmes in order to make effective strategies for implementation.
To organize need and topic/theme-based workshops, seminars and trainings for professional development and motivation of teachers as well as other stakeholders.
To conduct studies, surveys and researches related to school-education as well as teacher-education.
To synergize efforts for Quality Education through collaborative work with government’s flagship programmes like Samagra Shiksha.
To facilitate and guide Teacher Education Institutes (DIET, PTTC) for proper functioning and development.
